Through a promotional grant provided by the McKinney Community Development Corporation the museum has been able to provide marketing materials to promote the McKinney Then and Now exhibit. The promotional materials have been instrumental in telling people about the amazing exhibit available at the History Museum and attracting visitors to Downtown McKinney.

The Collin County History Museum was awarded a project grant from the McKinney Community Development Corporation that help provided funding for the set designs for the McKinney Then and Now exhibit. A livery stable, church bell tower, and Heard Bros Store are a few of the set designs in the exhibit.

The glass exhibit cases are also part of a project grant funded by MCDC. Our most resent project grant provided funding for the photo panels for the front foyer.  The photo panels tell the story of the 1911 historic building.

The museum received a grant from the McKinney Convention and Visitor's Bureau to promote and assist in funding initiatives, activities or events that promote the City of McKinney as a tourism destination.

The museum was awarded a grant to purchase a Padcaster Studio to create digital content for our McKinney Then and Now Exhibit. In preparation for this exhibit, the museum conducted video interviews with the owners of current businesses in Historic Downtown McKinney. These interviews will showcase the unique businesses and highlight the historical heritage of the buildings in which they are located. The videos created from these interviews are used to help attract visitors to downtown McKinney.
The digital video collection is uploaded to our YouTube and Vimeo Channels and posted on the museum webpage. The interviews are used as part of the interactive portion of our Then and Now Exhibit.
