Volunteer

Volunteers are at the heart of the Collin County History Museum. Their time, talents, and dedication help us care for our collections, welcome visitors, support programs and events, conduct research, and share the stories of Collin County with our community.

Whether you’re an individual looking to get involved or part of a service organization, school, scouting group, church, or community group, we’d love to have you join us. Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year and offer a meaningful way to give back, connect with your community, and help preserve local history.

There are many ways to share your time and talents with the Collin County History Museum. Current volunteer needs may include:

• Museum Docents — Welcome visitors and help guide them through the stories of Collin County.
• Special Event Greeters — Help us welcome guests, provide directions, and create a great experience during museum events.
• Historical Research — Assist with research requests, genealogy, local history, and special museum projects.
• Collections & Archives — Help organize, document, preserve, and care for the museum’s historic collections and archival materials.
• Exhibits & Programs — Lend a hand with exhibit preparation, installations, educational programs, and activities.
• Special Events — Support receptions, community programs, tours, and other museum happenings.
• Yard Work & Grounds Care — Help keep our historic property looking its best through seasonal cleanup, landscaping, planting, trimming, and other outdoor projects.
• Group Volunteer Projects — Opportunities may be available for schools, scouting groups, churches, service organizations, and community groups.
